Pothik Privacy Policy

Pothik is a motorcycle touring and rider-safety app. This policy explains what data Pothik processes, why it is needed, and the choices available to you.

Information you provide

• Account and profile details, including name, email, phone number, optional NID number, profile photo, motorcycle details and motorcycle photo.
• Optional safety information, including blood group, medical notes and emergency contact numbers.
• Ride plans, stops, ride-room messages, safety acknowledgements, fuel records, road reports, photos and feedback you choose to submit.

Location and motion information

Pothik processes precise location, speed, heading, route points and motion-sensor signals to provide navigation, ride recording, nearby ride discovery, crash-safety checks, group location and optional family live sharing.

During an active ride, Pothik may collect location data in the background even when the screen is off or another app is in use. This keeps the active ride, safety alerts and location sharing working. A persistent Android notification is shown while background tracking is active. Pothik stops active-ride sharing when the ride ends or the user turns it off.

Camera, microphone and notifications

Camera access is used only when you choose to scan a PothikQR, add a profile or motorcycle photo, attach a road report, or create a ride memory. Microphone access is used for optional voice features and rider–pillion communication. Notification access is used for ride, safety, SOS, announcement and break alerts.

How information is used

• Provide authentication, profiles, ride rooms, trip planning, route history and safety tools.
• Share information with riders or family viewers only when the relevant sharing feature is enabled.
• Maintain security, prevent abuse, diagnose failures and improve reliability.
• Respond to support requests and comply with applicable law.

Service providers

Pothik uses Google services including Firebase Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Realtime Database, Remote Config, Cloud Messaging, App Check, Crashlytics, Analytics, Firebase AI and Google Maps. These providers may process device, diagnostic, usage and network information under their own privacy terms.

Sharing and public features

Pothik does not sell personal information. Ride-room members can see the information needed for the active ride. Phone and emergency numbers are shared with the ride room only when the user allows it. A PothikPoribar browser link exposes only the live-ride information described on its consent screen, and can be stopped or allowed to expire. When PothikQR is enabled, a scanner can view the emergency details the user has chosen to publish.

Retention and deletion

Profile and ride data are retained while the account is active or until the user deletes the relevant record. Live-location records are removed or marked inactive when sharing or a ride ends, subject to short technical retention and backups. Diagnostic records may be retained for security and reliability. You can request deletion of your Pothik account and associated personal data through the app or at the account-deletion page.

Security and safety limits

Pothik uses authentication, access rules and secure connections to protect information. No system is completely secure. Pothik is a support tool—not a substitute for safe riding, official navigation, emergency services, medical advice or direct communication with authorities.

Children

Pothik is not designed for children under 13. Users must meet the minimum age required by applicable law and should ride only when legally permitted.

Your choices

You may decline optional permissions, stop live sharing, disable PothikQR, edit profile information, delete individual records where available, sign out, or request account deletion. Some core features will not work without the permissions they require.
